Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: F4 Surf / Sea State: Waist high Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Sailed from 9 - 12 on the sand bar at Hayling. Good waves rolling in side
shore to the wind. Probably up to waist high, you could tell it was the
"sweet spot" of the tide. I was on 5m and wave board, and the flukey winds
just werent enough most of the time. Good session in terms of work out
because a lot of pumping required. Some reasonable rides, but more power
needed as the wave isnt the most powerful!! Clean though and dappled
smooth, the potential is huge. Just took a lot of arm and body effort to
get the board going down the line.
Changed to bigger board at one point and that was better for planing, but
there may have been a bit more of a sluice running towards the end. The
session finished with a zero wind spell that saw us all wallowing, sinking
and swimming.
